Tonight’s movie was Ad Astra. It’s a blend of Gravity and Tree of Life. If you love movies, you’ll probably enjoy it. If you’re generally a mainstream moviegoer … it’s probably not for you. My friend fell asleep after about 30 minutes.
I’m in love with this shot. It’s a scene from the 1961 French film Last Year in Marienbad. I have to watch it now even though I’ve never heard of it before today.
I’m a romantic sap who can’t wait to see this film.
Leonard Cohen is one of my favorite musicians.
If you’ve never listened to his songs before,
you must start with “A Thousand Kisses Deep.”
The good. I saw Green Book tonight. I know it’s a great movie when I find myself laughing and crying all in the same minute. It’s Viggo Mortensen’s most captivating role to date. My sister said it’s her “favorite movie of the year.”
The bad. I lost my Sinemia card.
Tried a new Korean restaurant for dinner before the movie – based on Yelp reviews. Fried chicken and Rice Bowl with Bulgogi. Everything was so tasty.
Started a new series … The Informer. Binge-watched 3 episodes all in one night. I can’t imagine having to wait for a week or longer for the next episode any more. Loving the age of Netflix, Amazon & Hulu streaming.
Ever since I watched The Knick, I’ve been a huge fan of Steven Soderberg. Loving this list of everything Soderbergh has read and watched in 2018.
For further reading, there’s also the Soderblog. It would be nice if I can survive with 2-3 hours of sleep each night.
