The Other Java

My parents just got back from a month long trip to Indonesia and Myanmar visiting temples and monasteries. Last night was their first night back. On the way home from the airport, we had dinner with my brother’s family. We parked in front of Pho 75 in Rosslyn intending to dine there, but they closed. So we walked across the street to try a new Vietnamese restaurant recently opened. An hour and a half later, we walked the 2-minute path back to our cars to find them … gone! Apparently, to recover your car from towing costs $160/car these days! Happy New Year!

Happy Year of the Piglet

It feels like spring today. So warm I didn’t need to put on a coat to walk Max. Strange to be in the middle of winter and the temperature is in the 60s outside. We enjoyed our stroll in the Secret Garden so much, even with the muddy ground. Mr. Ground Hog was wrong?

Today is the first day of the Year of the Piglet.
Max is keeping me company each day just like this
as I’m working in the sunny studio at home.
“The Studio” in the winter time is actually my bedroom.
It’s the warmest room in the house.
Btw, Max is 12.5 years young.
