I was chatting away with my best friend about all the ups and downs of having a YouTube channel and she asked me …
“What is your goal now? To be a YouTuber or a filmmaker?”
Her question woke me up a bit. For over 7 years now, I’ve been wanting to be a filmmaker. After binge-watching David F. Sandberg’s, Casey Neistat’s and Peter McKinnon’s YouTube channels in the fall of 2017, I started thinking more and more about starting a YouTube channel. Two of my friends (Leon Truong and Tu Trinh) have already been running their own YouTube channels for awhile now too. I was feeling quite inspired.
I thought having a YouTube channel would help sharpen my filmmaking skills until I’m ready to make a “real” movie. I uploaded my first vlog to my YouTube channel in January 2018.
It has been a happy year creating and sharing my short films and vlogs. It’s now 2019. I’m not sure what my next steps are.
Time is quickly passing me by. I’m afraid I’m running out of time.
24 hours a day are just not enough. Have you seen this video by Casey Neistat on how he plans out his typical day? I love it.
Btw, I tried contacting Sinemia several times via email. No answer. I sent them a tweet. Within the hour, they tweeted me back and asked me to send them a DM. I sent them a DM. Within the hour, they messaged me back and helped me get a new card. It costs $10. So yah. If you need to get in touch with Sinemia, Twitter is the way to go. My new Sinemia card is on its way. May take a long while though. They warned me.
